Welcome to Sylvandria.
I don’t really know what I’m doing yet, but hopefully, I’ll use this space to share what I do know, what I’m working on, and maybe even some history.
For now, let’s start at the top.
I created Sylvandria.world as a place to talk about my writing.
You see, I’ve written a book, or rather, I’ve started a story. I have a beginning, a middle, and I’m still working on the end. I know how it finishes, but it’s still up in my head for now.
What began as a small idea grew into a monster. I’m now over 500,000 words in, and I’m not done yet. The funny part? When I first started, I thought I’d struggle to produce anything longer than a novella. But once I began, I realised this story might take a bit longer to tell.
My goal was to write the epic fantasy love story I wanted to read — to avoid clichés, embrace familiar tropes, and subvert whatever I could. I wanted to build a world that felt real. A place readers might want to visit, and once there, actually know where they were going.
And then I added characters. At first, I worried they’d be flat, a bit boring — or worse, unrealistic.
But something unexpected happened.
They lived.
Anyway. The story I’m writing is an epic fantasy, with a strong love story at its heart.
The tagline I’ve been using is:
A boy falls in love with a girl who doesn’t know who she really is.
And no, she hasn’t lost her memory.
It’s a story about identity, choice, and redemption. About how someone can decide what kind of person they want to be — and what they’re willing to do to put right the things that were done wrong.
Vague enough for you?
