The Chronicles of Sylvandria – What is it?

The Chronicles of Sylvandria

What This Book Is — And Who It’s For

The Chronicles of Sylvandria is a collection of intimate, slow-burning tales set long before the events of my novel The Betrayer’s Daughter. These stories don’t follow grand heroes charging across battlefields or destinies decided in an instant. Instead, they explore the quieter truths behind the legends—the moments that history forgets, the small decisions that shape centuries, and the ordinary people caught in the machinations of the world, the spirits and the Cosmos.

So, while writing my novel, I wrote some myths and legends. You know… who made the Twilight Swords of Ravea and why. The Dagger of Lost Souls, which features quite heavily in my novel. And who is Santheil?
So I wrote the back stories. But from a deeply personal point of view. These are slow stories, not action-packed. There are no twists and turns, just maybe unexpected decisions.

I also wanted to try to describe the scale of the items. From two blocks of steel, out as far as the Universe. And I hope I did that.

Why a pair of swords? Why does a shard of ruby matter? And what does a blacksmith’s steel and gems have to do with a love story a thousand years later?
It’s not essential to remember the names of people or places.
The primary purpose of the work is so that when read before, after or during my novel, the key items have a clear origin. And by clear origin, I mean, imagine stepping back in time and witnessing what truly happened. Who was really there, and what were they like?

So, take these for what they are. They are my stories, written my way, for anyone who cares to read them.
I’m writing for me. If you like them, I’ll be over the moon. If you don’t, well, not everyone can be right!
